What? A chocolate cake in only 6 minutes? Yes!

This is the cake that Max made me for my birthday and it was so yummy that I had to make it for us a second time and then share it with you.

Now all my natural health followers may resent me for this for years to come (I doubt it!) but the way to bake this cake is in the microwave! GASP! Yes…and while I am always a little iffy about using a microwave, there are times when it’s just darn convenient and for that I love it! So if you are a microwave hater, then open your mind and try it anyways because some times its fun to go against your own rules.

And since Max’s maman has been making this for every birthday and they are the most healthy family I know on the planet, and because I want to fit in, I love this recipe and will be making it a lot I am sure.

To make the cake, do this:Weigh out 125g of dark chocolate and melt it either in the microwave (for less than a minute) or on a double boiler with 2 tablespoons of water.

Add 125g of butter and melt it together a little longer.

Add 3 eggs to a large bowl.

Along with 125g of sugar.

And beat them together!

Throw in 75g of flour.

And also throw in a teaspoon of baking powder and stir everything together.

Finally add the melted chocolate mixture into the batter.

Mix everything together!

Pour it into a microwave safe baking dish lined with parchment paper. I made sure the parchment paper had high edges around the pan because in the microwave, the cake rises a ton and it would spill over the pan otherwise.

Microwave the cake for 6 minutes… et voila!Try it yourself or for guests whenever you need to whip up a quick dessert!
