Southern France: Part 1
Before heading over to The Alps, last weekend Max’s father, brother and I took a detour and headed to the South of France where we met up with Max’s maman and celebrated his grandfather’s 80th birthday!
As you may already know, I visited the small town L’isle Sur La Sorgue (in Provence) for Christmas (here) but seeing it in the spring cannot even compare. The weather was over 25 degrees Celcius the whole time and there was barely a cloud in the sky.
On Saturday night we attended a Jazz concert featuring music from Miles Davis that was performed by Max’s uncle (on the piano!) and his band mates.
On Sunday morning we went to the very famous market in town. People come from all over Europe and the rest of the world to see the L’isle Sur La Sorgue market where southern food, clothing and antiques are sold. I want to go back and check out some of those pretty summer dresses I spotted! I did end up buying a new hat though!!
Unfortunately, Max couldn’t join us because he had school work and exams…but it was an amazing time anyways!
Tomorrow I will share some pictures of the birthday and the food I ate and some other wonderful things to wrap up my experience of the few days in the South!
Happy Monday everyone and it feels amazing to be back online!
