I just came back from a chronic case of blogger’s block which I had been in all weekend, worrying about what I would write today, completely blank. That changed this morning when I realized I had a full weekend and have much to talk about what I did. So here goes!
Learning was the theme this weekend. After a huge party on Friday night, I wanted nothing more than to spend the whole weekend at home, relaxing…and relaxing to me includes reading, listening to audio books and researching the latest natural health news on Mercola.com
I received a Sony Reader in the mail from my dad for Christmas and now I officially have access to any book imaginable at my fingertips. In English!! Woohoo!
I gave one of my last English lessons to my wonderful students. I am super sad that these lessons will come to an end soon but I know, from the bottom of my heart that they received a ton of value from me, and that my friends, is what’s important. And that last sentence had a lot of commas in it.
I read the entire The Complete Idiot’s Guide To Herbal Remedies and it was amazing! I couldn’t put it down. The best herbal remedy for PMS? Try taking wild yam, Vitamin B complex, or try reflexology for the symptoms. And I love this series of books because you really do get the full perspective on any given topic…its a great way to introduce yourself to anything!
Then I read the first 4 chapters of Sex On The Moon by Ben Mezrich…I couldn’t get into it even though it’s a best seller and so I put it down.
I read half of The Help and it was such an amazing story that I had to download the movie and watch it before I could finish reading the book. I will finish the book because there are always other details put into books that their movie counterparts don’t include. (pic source)
I watched The Help and it was amazing. If you haven’t seen it then I don’t know what you are waiting for because its amazing!!
Here is the trailer:
I also listened to two audiobooks from Deepak Chopra: Quantum Healing and The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire both of which focus on the power of understanding Quantum Physics and using these laws to your advantage. Deepak Chopra is an Ayurvedic doctor so Quantum Healing focuses a lot on the mind/body principle and ayurvedic practices in healing, while the other book is more about the understanding of how energy works. Very interesting, if you are into this kind of stuff…it’s where the world is heading folks, so if you have yet to hop on this bandwagon than you better do it soon! (pic source)
I made my perfect pancakes on both Saturday AND Sunday!!
This one is inspiring…(I found the link via Olivine’s Charm School)
And this one is rather funny…
And to top this all off, I went for a wonderful bike ride with my love on Sunday morning!
What did you do this weekend?
Thanks for reading and here is to a wonderful week ahead!
